My scientific interests focus mainly on the environmental regulation of development and acclimatization processes in plants. More narrowly, my research includes senescence, autophagy, programmed cell death, and another form of active cell dying. Currently, I am working on the involvement of the epigenome in the mechanism(s) of enhancing an organism's adaptive capacity in response to stress. For the purposes of sustainable agriculture programs, I am interested in the use of epigenetic markers as novel selection markers in cultivation.
